As Paul Said that "they who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of GOD." For there were two Covenants. One was for Ishmael, the son of Abraham and the bondwoman, but Ishmael did not receive The Promise, for he was born of bondage, that is of the flesh, as Sarah said "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for he shall not be heir with my son." However, Isaac was born of the free woman, which is the spiritual Covenant (for "where THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS, there is Liberty"). And "In Isaac shall thy seed be Called." Again, when THE LORD JESUS CHRIST died on The Cross, the vail was rent in The Temple, symbolizing that the gentiles who were not the people of GOD, now may enter into The Holiest Place to offer up Spiritual Sacrifices acceptable to GOD through The BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. Gentiles who are in CHRIST are grafted into The VINE WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST, that they may bear fruit and that their fruit be acceptable to GOD through JESUS CHRIST WHO nourishes it and causes it to bring forth. Member Posts: 103 10/18/08 13:50:43	Messiahist is right. the rending of the temple symbolises that gentiles may enter - which is one strand in the Old Testament- but St Paul tell us that we are grafted on to the people of God. The Jews still have a special place in God's plan for the world and anti-semitism is a most heinous sin. There is no replacement. I was most moved by a convert from Judaism I knew- a survivor of the holocaust- who told me that the Easter liturgies, especially that of Holy Saturday, are especially moving for someone from a Jewish background as they are the summation and fulfillment of the promise. She was first of all an Anglo-Catholic, now an RC and devoted to the faith. We pray, of course that the Jewish people may recognise Christ as their messiah par excellence as he was sent to them to save us all. The Cathechism of the CC (839) tells us that "the Jewish faith, unlike other non Christian religions is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant." It quotes from Romans 11.29: " the call and gifts of God are irrevocable." It is a matter of conjecture within whether the Incarnation was always planned as Dun Scotus opined or whether it was a plan B after the failure of the the Old covenant. Member Posts: 2 10/18/08 21:34:25	Humans are children of God. We and as far as I know we alone in all of the universe can create the conciousness to give souls something to talk about. What other animal can go into the spirit and touch the mind of God. Lest ye forget, much of scripture was written by those who said they were in the spirit when revelation was given. When man named the first God, God, they tried to reflected His own image back and strive for perfection in perpetual evolution to always enhance God. We must always consider God as our highest title and always nameless. After all, He has become a cosmic consciousness and both pride and shame prevents His intervention at present. Let us hope that heaven does not find the miracle worker or we had all better learn to swim for longer than 40 days. Regards DL

Mind-boggling to us "creatures", God created the incredibly vast...but finite Universe..or perhaps Universes! All things are "created" except God...of whom the Word is part-of and His Spirit which permeates all things.... Someday, we will all be part of His timelessness; and, if we are fortunate, will also (by His GRACE) share in these vasts "mysteries";...and no longer be part of the confusion. Those who deny Him, or set themselves up in opposition to Him (as Satan/Lucifer has) will remain in confusion and never taste of the complete love of the "Word" made flesh in Jesus Christ (the One and Only; & no-other human-being will take His place). Read Job again to see God firmly in control of Satan. If Satan is seen as opposing God the rest assured that Satan does so at God's request. Nothing can deny God's request. Knowledge Evil is as necessary today for our growth in moral sense as it was for Eve and Adam in the beginning. The Church tries very hard to give us moral sense and it's tool is the tree of knowledge. Thank God Eve took a bite. Regards DL

This is why we Catholics fight the Marxist Theology of "Liberation": which is NOT "Liberation" at all; but rather SUFFERING & a State of ignorance.... Misunderstanding "LDS" condone the evil Eve did in partaking of the Forbidden-Sacred-Fruits. Roman-Catholics cannot condone the willful "want to be God-like" (which you express in empathy with our First Parents)! In this Wedneday's GA, our Holy Father, in a lesson on Pauline Christology, explained that Adam's pride ended in his self-destruction, whereas Christ took the opposite route -- that of humility -- and was "greatly exalted" by the Father. Because of our fist parents' treacherous act, not only did man die* (which was not part of the "Original-Good"), but there was a need to redeem Mankind. We must be thankful to the descent of Jesus Christ to man in the Meridian of Time onto our planet; in that we can now converse and see God directly...Something we lost in the initial "Fall of Man"....And, to bring Him into this world to Redeem us, God gave us a New Eve, in Mary...His Blessed-Mother, who was conceived totally without Sin (unlike any other member of the human-race outside of Jesus). She was unable to rot in death...and so was assumed, body and spirit, a total soul in Heaven. And, in Heaven she has been given a Crown. Someday, like Mary, our Model, we too will share fully in the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot learn from within ourselves; it must be a vertical act from God himself. To share in each other's ignorance [between ourselves: a horizontal movement as in the Asian mystical approach and the non-Hebrew-pagan Gods-worship, leaving out the Supremacy of Jesus], is total folly. Man can gain nothing from "within"! It MUST COME from God. All good and inspiration is from God. Ludwig van Beethoven understood this; and he took no credit for himself. If God is to our epitome of good then He must be our epitome of evil as well. Alpha and omega. Do not place someone else there to usurp God's position. Though shall place no one above the alpha. Evil is rebellion & rejection of the love of God. In the creation story in the Silmarrilion, the evil one sings in discord against the harmony so spoiling the music. The graph is a visual representation of where God places the various sins. The lesser sins at the good end and the greater sins at the evil end. Aunt Jane's, yuk, lovely new dress at the good end, genocide by God at the evil end. It represents God's philosophy. This is why scripture says that to know the tree of knowledge is to be as Gods, knowing good and evil. In other words, to actually understand the plan of the various laws. Regards DL
