On the subject of Ingrid Stampa's role prior to 4/19:
"Since that time (the death of Papa B's sister Maria in 1991), as intelligent and cordially well-known Ingrid the Stampa in Ratzinger's dwelling, only few steps lives from the Vatikan far away. It describes the new Pope as simple humans, who are content with little. Wine it drinks rarely, since it of it get headache. Benedikt XVI the dear Italian kitchen, but still more it schwaermt for the German and above all the Bavarian"
then remarks on the lovely view from the papal apartment, and who lives there:
" All in all a dozen of rooms counts the third floor of the Apostoli palace. In addition being the library, the private chapel, and the room for Ratzinger's rheinische lady housekeeper Ingrid Stampa." (I am so glad she's there with him!)
and really interesting is:
"However still long all renovation work is not settled. So far only the bedroom and the bathroom are reconditioned...in addition the extensive medical equipments which were necessary for the last critically ill Johannes Paulus were diminished. The remaining areas would be prepared in the summertime, if the Popes usually flee before the Roman summer heat into the mountains....The German had pressed on the speed: already on day after the choice it visited its new domicile for the first time and gave directly renovation desires in order. With the white walls he could not make friends himself at all. It wished itself more aliveness and wanted therefore that the old white fresh to Terrakotta tones yield".
What's this - Papa has strong ideas on interior design and gave them out immediately upon viewing the space? How charming - I agree with him that stark white is not "alive" an$ difficult to make friends with- and terracotta colored walls seem lovely and warm. After all he has to live there!
