Just before I make a complete fool of myself by spouting off on a topic on which my information is incomplete or inaccurate, I would like everyone's help.
In our Diocesan paper two weeks ago was the announcement of the opening of the Chapel of St. Benedict, property of the Society of St. Pius X. The Archdiocese noted simply that this group is not in communion with the Holy See and that attending Mass there will not fulfill the Sunday obligation.
Is either of the two claims made here actually true?
