I need some advice. I go to a wonderful, traditional Parish in Salt Lake City. One of the laymen of the congregation has suddenly become an "MC"--he stands in the pulpit before mass, asks everyone to turn around and introduce themselves to those standing nearby and shake hands. I come to mass early to pray a rosary and do not want to engage in all of this. It is bad enough that we have to do all of that nonsense at the peace. I should also mention there is a coffee hour right after mass. Would that not be the place to make introductions? I am thinking of changing parishes because I feel that my place of quiet and prayer has been stolen. What would you do?
