November 19th? | #25 | ||

Does the date of November 19th mean anything to anyone here in regards to this?

No, I read someone on another forum say that November 19th was a possibility for news on this, but no sources were named and no link provided. So life goes on.
Will the Ecclesia Dei commission opt for a personal prelature? A universal indult? Or something none of us have even considered? We will simply have to wait and see. I do know that the FSSP is "expanding" in these parts, although since I am not a member of our city's "Latin Mass community" I do not know what form this expansion is taking (e.g.; into other parishes in the city, or elsewhere throughout the province). Any connection between this activity and a possible indult is, admittedly, speculative -- although it is certainly fun to speculate. On a personal note, I have already indicated to both the rector of my church and our Bishop that I would welcome any further application of the Tridentine liturgy in our city. I expect that when the big announcement from the Holy See finally does come, it will simply be made without ceremony, dropped like a bombshell and left for people who hadn't even expected it to deal with in utter bewilderment and near-total disbelief. We shall see what transpires. GEORGE's JUNGLE 24-HOUR INTERNET RADIO FROM CALGARY

But it is still a nice 7 months of having Ratzinger for Our Papa!
The other report now circulating from the American Conference of Bishops held upstate NewYork this past week and emphasized last night on "The World Over": eliminating "special-ministers" amongst the lay who distribute the host and blood of Christ..... A return to only permitting the clergy to do this act.... That is going to be a shocker! "I have a mustard- seed; and I am not afraid to use it."

World-wide Tridentine Personal-praelature | #31
|
Because of the success of the Brazilian experiment,
see: Cardinal Medina and the Tridentine Rite ![]() There are efforts in the Vatican to adapt and accept the Celebration the old Tridentine Rite along with the new rite: The instruction was written for the French Benedictine Cloister of Le Barroux, Fontgombault, ![]() where which, Our Holy Father, as Cardinal Ratzinger, performed as Celebrant upon numerous occasions before his Papacy. Here he is seen in 1995 celebrating Mass at Barroux/South-France, at the Benedictine Cloister of St. Magdalena: ![]() - - - - - - - - - and for Randol and Triors, three of the most famous of the monasteries, in which the entire Liturgy is celebrated after old Tridentine Rite. ________________________________________________________ ![]() The instructions seemingly contain an attempt to implement an intermediate rite in order to adapt the old rite, which is celebrated in these monasteries (in an order taking-in careful consideration the new rite). The text contains eight rules. First requires a shortened Procession of the Entrada , if it follows directly after Eucharistic-Adoration of the monks. In this case the rite begins immediately according to the new rules with the Introitus. The quiet prayers at the foot of the altar, prescribed in the old Tridentine Rite, are to be omitted. The Liturgy of the Word is read/sung not by the altar, but at the Deacon's Lectern (not the Commentator's pulpet). The readings are to be spoken/sung in Latin [or in the vernacular of the people]. Before the Offertorium, prayer-petitions [Intercessions] could be inserted. The quiet prayer over the gifts at the end of the Offertorium is to be prayed loud. The doxologie of the Eucharistic Prayer by iHim and with Him and in Him is to be sung and be answered by the choir with Amen. The "Our father", which is alone prayed in the old Tridentine Rite [by the priest], is now to be sung by the whole people. To be sung also is the concluding Benediction, thereby the conclusion gospel is omitted. ![]() old news from the 2nd of November 2005: World wide praelature and _________________________________________________new document almost ready "I have a mustard- seed; and I am not afraid to use it."

Christmas Present from Benedict XVI | #35
|
The motu propio declaration by which Pope Benedict XVI would allow for the universal use of the Missal of St. Pius V (called the "Tridentine Mass") unequivically to be celebrated freely (as an open alternative to the "Novus Ordo" doing away with the current requirement to have the explicit permission of the local bishop), will be declared officially by Christmas.
Sources confirmed the recent statements to reporters by Cardinal Jorge Medina Estevez, who told them after participating in a meeting of the Ecclesia Dei Commission, where the text of the motu propio was reviewed, that the document would come soon....The apostolic exhortation on the Eucharist, according to the same sources, has already been finished by Pope Benedict XVI and is being translated into the different languages in which it will be presented. The document, which sources say will be issued after January 15, reaffirms the Churchs commitment to a celibate priesthood, encourages the use of Latin in liturgical celebrations, and even requests that seminarians learn the language as part of their formation. It will also promote the recovery of Gregorian chant and sacred polyphonic music as a replacement to modern music, which would result in a gradual elimination of musical instruments that are inappropriate for the solemnity and reverence of the Eucharistic celebration. Freedom for the Tridentine Mass celebration and new required Vatican directives for the Celebration of the Novus Ordo "I have a mustard- seed; and I am not afraid to use it."
