I note, however, that replies have focused on the pictures and not on the contents of what Msgr. Marini had to say. Is there any special reason for that?
I don't think there is much to be said about the article Rcesq. Guido Marini has not said anything here that he has not said in previous interviews. He seems to have a fairly standard script.
You mentioned collaboration - well I am sure he does "collaborate" just as all of the Pope's staff do, and just as Archbishop Marini would have done. Or are you suggesting that this indicates that Monsignor Marini and the Pope hole up together poring over fabric swatches, going through the wardrobes and picking out outfits for every papal event? Are you suggesting that for three years the Pope was longing for lace, aching for cope-bearers and simply itching to get those huge jewelled mitres onto his snowy head while sitting on a glitzy throne? Only big, bad Piero Marini wouldn't let him - poor darling! How could have tolerated being thwarted for so long? After all, at the age of 78 surely one wants to crack on with the things one considers important.
If that is what you are implying, I don't agree. I think the collaboration is far less detailed than that. Others may think differently.
