The montage of films identified as "Jozeph Ratzinger befor election archival frames collection" has at 1:11 or so a glimpse of Maria Ratzinger and her brother at a Bavarian October fest. The whole thing is worth watching and the site itself is something you might want to bookmark for leisurely browsing. benedictxvi.tv/arhiv.html

Member Posts: 5875 12/31/07 10:08:53	This year was a very busy one for the Pope and a year in which he also marked his 80th birthday. He made a major Apostolic visit to Brazil in May to preside at the opening of CELAM in Aparecida. He also visited Austria and made pastoral visits in Italy to Pavia and Vigevano, to Assisi, Loreto, Velletri and Naples. He also published the first volume of his book on Jesus of Nazareth, published Spe Salvi, his second encyclical, and issued the long awaited Motu Proprio on the Tridentine Mass. So much happened during 2007 that it was difficult to choose representative photographs. It made me realize just how much time the Pope spends onstage and how full his public schedule his. People decades younger would be exhausted by his agenda. What a remarkable 80 year old he is and how fortunate we are to have him as our Holy Father. Next year promises to be equally busy. We wish our Holy Father health and happiness to continue his great mission in 2008. Member Posts: 1360 03/01/08 01:58:17 Moderator	For some reason the text I added to the two videos has disappeared. Yuk-u! Anyway, the point I wanted to make was that the videos are in two different musical styles but had a common theme: admiration for Pope Benedict XVI.

Member Posts: 850 03/02/08 10:56:50	I can now see both videos but, frustratingly, the second one takes a while to load. I tried my usual trick of leaving this site running with the sound down, and looking at another one while the video played through once, which often works when you run it a second time, but this does not seem to have done the trick. Oh well, thanks for sharing these two lovely pieces of music. The second one is by Palestrina, very fine. I bet Galantarie knows about it!!
