Howdy folks.
As an EZBoard Gold Community, this forum costs money to run. When we first started out back in 2000 we were operating on the introductory rate of "$9.95 for 3 Months and $30.00 for 6 Months."
However, due to the number of page-views and the overwhelming rise in forum activity post-election of our Papa, Pope Benedict XVI, it presently costs us $71 for 3 months, or $122 for 6 months, to maintain this forum as a EzBoard Gold Community.
The benefits of keeping this forum a 'Gold Community' are described here:

Besides the additional customization features for posts, Probably the most important thing is that it's advertisement-free, meaning no annoying pop-ups or advertisements of questionable content (like dating services). Honestly, our status expired today and I got so tired of the annoying advertisements myself that I shelled out the difference just to get rid of them.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
You might notice something called a 'Community Chest' at the bottom of the forum, thus far reflecting the donations of "gracelp" and myself to cover the cost for the next three months (thanks gracelp).
Our Gold Community status will last until December 27, 2005 (92 days left).
I figure if those who use this forum on a regular basis could
contribute of their own free will, over the course of the next three months we could build up the funds to maintain this forum for the next round. Given that we have at least 50+ active members on this board, even if each were to pay only $2.00 that would cover us sufficiently.
So, in short, contributions to 'The Community Chest' would be greatly appreciated -- as whatever is not provided is being paid for out of pocket by yours truly.
