Solana wins Charlemagne Prize
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana is to
receive this year's International Charlemagne Prize. The prize,
which is presented annually by the German city of Aachen, honors
valuable contributions in the services of Western European
understanding. In a first response, Mr. Solana said that he valued
the award more than a Nobel Prize and called it a great honour for
both himself and his family.
